Applied Mathematics

The course has 2 pathways, reflecting the existing strengths within the group in numerical analysis and in industrial mathematics.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree in mathematics or a mathematically-related discipline or an equivalent overseas qualification in a mathematical subject; students whose 1st language is not English require a minimum score of IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other component or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Mathematical methods; partial differential equations; scientific computing; dynamical systems; transferable skills for mathematicians.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a dissertation.
