Management of Projects

The programme covers 4 routes; students can choose to follow the generic Management of Projects route or pursue a more specific route from a commercial , construction, engineering or IT project management.

Entry requirements

A 2nd Class UK Honours degree; preferably an upper 2nd, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject, such as built environment, engineering, technical or management disciplines; IELTS 6.5 (with no sub test less than 5.5), TOEFL 570 with 5.0 in the TWE (computer-based 230 or internet-based 88-89).

Course modules

Modules include: Commercial management; management of projects; people and organisation; project planning and control; project management research methods; optional and directed course-modules include: reviewing projects involving IS/IT; commercial contract management; conflict management and dispute resolution; environmental assessment; business projects involving IS/IT; infrastructure projects in developing countries; project finance; risk management.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a research project and a dissertation.

Sponsorship information

Charles Marks Award: 1 scholarship is available to the value of $5,000 to American students registered on any of the full time Master of Science courses in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering; this award is not available to students on part-time or distance learning courses.
