The course will teach students how to ensure future networks support for the electrification of energy, especially heat and transport, and encourage greater use of low carbon energy sources. To enable this broad interdisciplinary approach our research is organised into four broad themes: electrical power network design, operation and management; power network operation, planning and governance; changes to the pattern of energy demands and their effect on the power network; cross-cutting technologies.
A 1st Class or upper 2nd Class Honours degree is required, or the overseas equivalent.
