Environmental Monitoring and Modelling and Reconstruction

This programme focuses on the analysis of dynamic environments, past, present, and future.

Entry requirements

A 2nd Class Honours degree, or its equivalent, in earth sciences, environmental sciences, or geography; graduates in chemistry, biological sciences, mathematics, engineering or a cognate discipline also considered; geographers already working in research or policy related fields are welcomed; IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum writing score of 7; or TOEFL (paper-based) score of 600 or more with a minimum score in test of written English of 5; TOEFL (computer-based) score of 250 or more with a minimum essay rating of 5; or an NCUK PMP EAP grade A.

Course modules

Modules include: Generic research and personal skills; environmental change; environmental remote sensing; environmental modelling and modelling concepts; applied study unit; GIS and environmental applications; environmental monitoring and modelling practice; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes a 5000-word dissertation on an approved topic; oral presentations; essays; project work; reports.

Sponsorship information

UK/EU applicants may be eligible for European Social Fund (ESF) funding; a number of small bursaries are available for UK/EU students; applicants wishing to be considered for a bursary should contact the admissions office once they have received an offer.
