Environmental Governance

This course provides a thorough training in the principles and practices of environmental governance.

Entry requirements

A 1st or Upper 2nd Class degree or its international equivalent; degree backgrounds geography, politics, anthropology, sociology and philosophy encouraged; IELTS: 7.0, TOEFL: paper-based 600; computer-based 250; internet based: 100; grade C in the Cambridge certificate of proficiency in English; or an NCUK PMP EAP Grade B.

Course modules

Modules include: Theories of environmental governance; issues in environmental policy; seminars and key texts in environmental governance. Optional modules include: Marxist political economy; conservation and development; environment and democracy; environmental economics; environment and development; concepts in environmental law; global justice; environmental science; urban regeneration.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on 15000-word dissertation on an approved topic; oral presentations; essays; project work; reports.

A number of small school bursaries are available for UK/EU students; applicants wishing to be considered for a bursary should contact the admissions office once they have received an offer.
