Social Anthropology (Latin American Studies)

This course offers an interdisciplinary mix of modules on Latin America, including the following topics: black identity and culture; the indigenous peoples of Amazonia; the history of revolutions from Zapata to Che Guevara; the effect of urban planning on poverty in Latin American cities; Hispanic migration to the united states; the effect of soap operas on the development of Spanish as a pluricentric language; contemporary debates concerning pre-Columbian and Latin American art.

Entry requirements

A UK 2.1 (or overseas equivalent) in an appropriate subject for direct Master's entry; UK 2.2 (or overseas equivalent) in an appropriate subject for Postgraduate Diploma route entry. IELTS - overall score of 7, including 7 in writing with no further component score below 6.0. TOEFL IBT - overall score of 100 with 25 in each section.
