University of Manchester
Candidates are selected from the students admitted to the MBChB undergraduate course of The University of Manchester. The minimum criterion for admission is satisfactory achievement in years 1 to 3 / 4 of the undergraduate medical programme. For University of St Andrews students, this includes their 3 year degree programme and the following one or two years spent in Manchester (years 3 and 4 of the Manchester programme).
We also accept intercalating dental students from the University of Manchester, students from other UK Universities including home medical and dental graduates and international medical graduates who can demonstrate relevant experience and commitment to biomedical research.
Most international students must demonstrate English proficiency through a secure and approved testing system. We ask for English language proof from applicants from non-majority English speaking countries.Specifically, we require a minimum of:
IELTS - minimum 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing
TOEFL: 90 internet-based (with 22 in each component)

Practical skills in biomedicine
One full time research placement
You will be assessed through presentations, written reports and a final report.
