Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine

This Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine MSc course is aimed at qualified practitioners looking to learn more about cosmetic medicine, particularly minimally invasive procedures. You will cover the following topics on our intensive part-time distance learning course: •the science of aesthetics; •the application of evidence-based practice; •the clinical assessment and management of patients presenting with aesthetic problems. You will complement your online theoretical learning with hands-on clinical bedside teaching sessions linked to each course unit at The Dermatology Centre in Manchester.

Entry requirements

PgDip

UK trained applicants

Medicine and Dentistry MBBS, BDS, LDS, BDChB degrees

No other applicants will be considered for this course.

This course is very competitive and to secure a place, you must also have been practicing for several years.

Non-UK trained applicants

An undergraduate medical degree (MBBS equivalent) from an institution that is recognised and approved by the General Medical Council (UK).

An undergraduate Dental degree (BDS equivalent) from an institution that is recognised by and approved by General Dental Council.

All candidates must be registered with the General Medical/Dental Council (UK) with a full licence to practice and evidence of membership of the appropriate professional defence union if they are to perform clinical procedures during residential weeks.

English language

Most international students must demonstrate English proficiency through a secure and approved testing system. We ask for English language proof from applicants from non-majority English speaking countries

Specifically, we require a minimum of:
• IELTS - minimum 7.0 overall

Most English language test results are only valid for two years and must be valid on the start date of the course for a visa to be granted.
