International Environmental Management (Madras)

This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs and ever growing sustainability demands of India, and other rapidly developing countries. This is an online programme supported by 2 (non-compulsory) one week residential sessions (February and September) at the University of Madras, Chennai, India.

Entry requirements

All international students applying for a course at the University of Northampton must meet the minimum English language requirements: minimum of IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) for postgraduate study.

Course modules

Climate change and risk management; research and analytical methods; research thesis; environmental management policy and control (India); wastes management in India; pollution abatement technologies.

Assessment methods

All modules are assessed via written assignments. Generally, there are 2 assignments per module. However, in some cases, there are 3. There are no exams for any of the modules. However, some modules are assessed using time constrained assessments (TCAs), whereby there is a set period of time (typically a week), within which the completed assignment has to be submitted.
