2.1 (or international equivalent) in an arts, humanities, or social science subject. For PhD-level study, applicants are usually expected to hold, or be working towards, a Master's degree in a relevant subject. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 (no less than 6.5 in any element).
Assessment is solely by a 30,000-word dissertation and is taught primarily by supervision, with each student working with a team of 2 supervisors who facilitate the research.
