This course offers students the chance to undertake research in any field for which supervision is offered. It is an ideal preparation for entry onto a PhD programme, but may equally appeal to students wishing to undertake 1 year's postgraduate study. Students agree a programme of study with their supervisor(s) which leads to the preparation of a 30,000-word dissertation; together with other students they also follow a module in research skills (generic and subject-specific methodology).

Entry requirements

2.1 (or international equivalent) in an arts, humanities or social science subject. For PhD-level study, applicants should hold, or be working towards, a Master's degree in a relevant subject. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 (no less than 6.5 in any element).

Sponsorship information

AHRB; University of Nottingham studentships (where available).
