Russian and Slavonic Studies

The department offers excellent research supervision for both MPhil and PhD, full time and part time and has internationally-recognised expertise in Russian culture and Serbian and Croatian studies; specific areas of research on the Russian side are: theatre; humour and satire; poetry; women's writing; early 20th-century literary movements; film; gender studies; socialist realism and Soviet and post-Soviet cultural studies; expertise in Serbian/Croatian studies include: Serbian and Croatian literature, literary and cultural theory; modern cultural studies; the relationship of literature to culture and ideology in small nations; and methodological issues in literary history.

Entry requirements

Good Honours degree in a relevant subject area; international applicants should normally be fluent in English as demonstrated IELTS or TEOFL tests.
