Electromagnetics Design

The course aims to prepare students for a leading career in research by providing them with the education and skills necessary to undertake electromagnetics design; students gain a solid understanding of the scientific foundations and appreciation of up-to-date technological achievements in their chosen field; they develop project management skills in relation to the scientific and technological aspects of their chosen subject including design, data collection and analysis, report writing along with critical and decision making skills; students increase their awareness of contemporary challenges in their chosen area and are able to communicate effectively, discussing both present and futuristic solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in electrical and/or electronic engineering or a suitable engineering, scientific or mathematical discipline; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS band 6.0 (no less than 6.0 in any element) or TOEFL IBT:87 with no less than 21 in listening, 22 in reading, 23 in speaking and 21 in writing.

Course modules

Core modules: electromagnetics design project. Optional Graduate School modules: introduction to managing research; planning research and time management; research policy, IPR and management in science and engineering. Optional modules for electromagnetics design: research techniques in advanced electromagnetics.
