Aerospace Technologies

This is a multidisciplinary taught course which complements the research strengths of the Institute for Aerospace Technology, drawing on the expertise of staff across the faculty; it provides science or engineering graduates from a diversity of backgrounds with a solid grounding in current aerospace technologies, together with options to develop an emphasis in manufacturing, advanced materials and structures, or power electronic systems.

Entry requirements

2.1 (international equivalent) in engineering and physical sciences or closely related degree. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).

Course modules

Core modules: introduction to aerospace technology; aerospace industry organisation; advanced engineering research preparation; aerospace technology review; advanced engineering research project organisation and design; advanced engineering research project. The remainder of the taught modules will come from stream specific groups. The following are some of those available: aerospace manufacturing technology; processing of engineering alloys; aerospace materials; power systems for aerospace, marine and automotive applications; satellite based positioning.
