2.1 or pass at MBBS (and other medical degrees where no classification is awarded as standard) in a relevant subject e.g. medical/nursing/dental/veterinary and other health related degrees. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 (no less than 6.0 in any element).
Core modules: medwise (an online introduction to teaching, learning and assessment); learning theories; introduction to clinical teaching and learning; introduction to assessment in clinical education; the humanities, ethics and professionalism; dissertation. Elective modules: psychometrics of assessment: theory and practice; principles of leadership and management; fundamentals of simulation-based education in healthcare; problem based learning in medicine and health sciences; advanced teaching, learning and assessment; supervising PG trainees in the modern NHS; e-learning in clinical education.
Modules are assessed by a variety of methods, including essays, online tests, reflective diaries, teaching presentations and the production of an education website.
