Advanced Clinical Practice

The course provides practitioners with the appropriate knowledge and skills to manage complex cases within their own speciality; it provides an educational structure that links to relevant competency frameworks and supports the National Health Service (NHS) career framework.

Entry requirements

2.2 (or international equivalent) in a related subject. Applicants should have at least 5 years of clinical or health and social care experience. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).

Course modules

Modules include: history taking clinical examination and decision making 1; history taking clinical examination and decision making 2; non-medical prescribing; developing advanced clinical skills through work based learning; developing advanced clinical skills through work based learning; evidence for health and social care; leadership in health and social care; advancing practice clinical project/dissertation.

Assessment methods

Applicants complete a final clinical project/dissertation.
