Veterinary Medicine and Surgery

The aim of this course is to develop research and clinical excellence in veterinary-qualified staff and engage veterinarians from clinical practice in research. Students are expected to complete taught modules at Master's level in research methods, critical appraisal of literature and research planning. In addition, they are required to submit a research thesis.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a veterinary degree and be members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Prospective graduates will be considered, but all veterinary graduates must have their Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) number for application. Graduates with less than 2 years post graduate clinical experience must include evidence that, as an undergraduate, they undertook at least 26 weeks of extramural clinical placements (outside the curriculum) or equivalent experience. English language requirements: IELTS 7.5 (no less than 7.0 in any element).

Assessment methods

The course is assessed by 3 components: dissertation; clinical portfolio; clinical case report.
