Brewing (Principles and Practice)
The course is designed for individuals in the brewing and allied industries who would like to improve their understanding of the scientific principles and practice of the brewing process; it is also highly suitable for those aspiring to a career as a practical brewer.
2.2 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as biological chemistry, biochemical engineering or other relevant sciences; relevant workplace experience is considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.0 in any element or TOEFL paper based 550 with 4.0 TWE or TOEFL computer based 213 with 4.0 TWE or TOEFL IBT 79 (no less than 19 in any element) are required.
Core modules: Raw materials for brewing; brewhouse processes; brewery yeast management; fermentation and yeast handling; beer maturation and filtration.
Assessment is based on an examination.
