University of Nottingham
Current research in the Agents Laboratory in Computer Science is structured around the areas of logics and agent programming, including logics for reasoning about agents and multi-agent systems, and the design and implementation of novel agent architectures and agent programming languages. Possible PhD topics lie in these areas and their intersection, eg the verification of agent programs and multi-agent systems, and applications of agents.
For PhD programmes, applicants generally need to hold an Honours degree at 2.1 level or above (or international equivalent) in an appropriate subject. For MPhil or other research Master's programmes (eg MRes, MA/MSc (by research) applicants would normally be expected to hold an Honours degree at 2.2 level or above (or international equivalent) in an appropriate subject. Applicants generally be required to submit a research proposal (link to writing a research proposal) with their application. If the 1st language is not English, applicants must achieve an appropriate level in an approved test in English before they can register.
