This course is the 1st step for a career in forensic psychology practice; it contributes to professional training in forensic psychology (British Psychological Society (BPS) Diploma Stage 1); it provides comprehensive knowledge in theory and evidence-based practice with victims and offenders, including assessment, intervention and evaluation.
Accredited 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree in a psychology programme (single or joint Honours); the Bachelors degree programme in psychology (single or joint Honours) must be accredited by the BPS (British Psychological Society) and applicants must be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBCM) of the BPS; relevant forensic experience can be taken into account; although a 2.1 or equivalent is normally required, a high 2.2 is considered in exceptional circumstances; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS: 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in any element) or TOEFL paper based 573 (no less than 4.5 in TWE) or TOEFL IBT 87 with no less than 21 in any element.
