The aim of this top up programme is to allow postgraduate psychologists already holding a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited Master's to obtain a doctorate through applying their knowledge to practice with victims or offenders; these individuals are eligible to fast track onto the 2 year doctorate component of the full DForenPsy course; the programme is approved by the Health Professions Council (HPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and confers eligibility to apply for HPC registration and BPS chartered membership respectively.
A BPS accredited Master's in criminological, forensic or investigative psychology, with a minimum grade of 60 per cent in the Master's research project, plus a minimum of 2.1 Class Honours degree in Psychology (BA/BSc single or joint); all applicants must have at least 100 days relevant practice experience in forensic settings under supervision (voluntary or paid); all applicants are required to show evidence of an enhanced CRB check dated no more than 12 months prior to the start of the course.
