Business and Economy of Contemporary China

The course is suitable for students with a background in management, business, economics or other general social science subjects and a strong interest in contemporary China; it is suitable for both UK and non-UK students, including those from China.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or equivalent from an accredited university in an appropriate discipline; candidates with a high 2.2 or equivalent are considered on a discretionary basis; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in any element), TOEFL paper-based 573 (no less than 4.5 in TWE), TOEFL IBT 87 (with no less than 21 in any element).

Contemporary Chinese culture and society; government and politics of China; management for China; East Asian business and society; society and government in contemporary China; government and politics of China; China and the world; human resource management and marketing for China; Chinese economic issues; contemporary Chinese law in context; managing international business in China; Chinese financial market analysis; research design and practice in China.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a dissertation.
