Corporate Strategy and Governance

This course is appropriate for anyone seeking a career in areas such as venture capital, management consultancy, investment banking, and financial services management.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in management, economics or business studies; 3.25 from Thai applicants, 82 per cent or 87 per cent for Chinese prestigious and non prestigious universities, 60 per cent or 65 per cent for Indian A and B list universities; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 (no less than 6.0 in any element) or TOEFL paper based 600 with 4.5 in TWE or TOEFL IBT 100 (no less than 19 in any element).

Course modules

Semester 1: introduction to research methods; managerial economics. Optional modules: 1 from: corporate financial strategy; managing people and organisations. 1 from: further qualitative research methods; further quantitative research methods. Semester 2: corporate governance; corporate strategy. Optional modules: at least 1 from: applied banking; corporate risk; entrepreneurship and venture capital; financial econometrics; financial reporting; financial security valuation; financial services: context, consumers and markets; industrial economics; innovation and policy; international finance; international strategy; management information systems; marketing communications; quantitative risk management; strategic marketing.

Assessment methods

Assessment is a combination of individual essay or group project and written examination.
