Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Management
The ability to spot and develop opportunities, bring innovation to an organisation, work creatively and judge the value of ideas when investment conditions are uncertain, are the central themes of this course. The course is designed for students looking for careers in business and management. It will also interest those who may start their own business or who may take over a family business. The course involves high levels of participation and guided practical learning to translate entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and management theory into practical management skills. Students examine case studies, are taught by visiting entrepreneurs, attend lectures and take part in team working, business simulations, group projects and presentations.
2.1 Honours degree or equivalent. English requirements: IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each element or PTE (Academic) 62 (minimum 55 in the communicative skills elements).
Core modules: Entrepreneurship and creativity; entrepreneurial finance and accounting; entrepreneurial management; marketing for entrepreneurial firm; entrepreneurship project. Two from: Corporations, power and society; e-business; globalisation, business and devlopment; launching new ventures; innovation management; managing for sustainability; managing international business in China; technology entrepreneurship.
