Supply Chain and Operations Management

Topics covered on this course include: design of operations facilities and systems; introduction to managing operations; management science for decision support; managing international operations; quality management and quality techniques; supply chain management in practice; supply chain planning and management.

Entry requirements

2.1 (or international equivalent) in an engineering, science or business related subject; English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).

Course modules

Semester 1 modules: management science for decision support; managing contemporary operations: fundamentals and challenges; supply chain planning and management. Plus 1 from: fundamentals of management information systems; project management. Semester 2 modules: quality management and quality techniques; procurement and purchasing; supply chain and operations strategy in practice. Plus 1 from: advanced operations analysis; business intelligence and analytics; e-business; international transport and logistics; management information systems: theory to practice; management science for decision support; service operations management; simulation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a combination of individual essay or group project and written examination.
