Corporate Social Responsibility

The course emphasises the international influence and impact of corporations and their responsibilities. It examines the social, ethical and environmental issues faced by both business and other kinds of organisations, providing students with a theoretically underpinned analytical perspective on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and enabling them to critically assess CSR issues, initiatives, drivers and responses.

Entry requirements

2.1 (or international equivalent) in management, business studies or other social sciences. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).

Course modules

Semester 1: business ethics; introduction to research methods; strategies for corporate social responsibility. In addition, students choose 1 of the following modules: further qualitative research methods; further quantitative research methods. Semester 2: accounting, auditing and control for sustainability advances in corporate social responsibility; corporate social responsibility and global governance.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a dissertation.
