Sustainability

This course provides a unique combination of contemporary issues in social, economic, and environmental sustainability and entrepreneurship education. It provides students with the analytical skills to understand the complexity of sustainability challenges in business as well as fostering creative thinking to generate potential solutions. The course combines contemporary theoretical approaches to sustainability and responsible business with current practice.

Entry requirements

2.1 (or international equivalent) in any discipline; personal statement and a list of modules being studied in the final year (for applicants who have not yet completed their bachelor degree). English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).

Course modules

Semester 1 core modules: foundations of sustainability; research methods for sustainability. Choose 2 modules from this group subject to meeting any pre-requisites: business ethics; creative problem solving; entrepreneurship and creativity; entrepreneurial management; managing organisations; strategies for responsible business. Semester 2 core modules: evaluating sustainability; managing for sustainability. Choose 2 modules from this group subject to meeting any pre-requisites: corporations, power and society; globalization, business and development; innovation management; launching new ventures; strategic human resource management; technology entrepreneurship.

Assessment methods

Assessment is a combination of individual essay or group project, written examination and the dissertation.
