Economics and International Economics

The course is designed to train students in the use of analytic and quantitative methods in examining economic issues, and to provide research training of the level required to proceed to a PhD programme in economics. The course specialises in international economics, while providing a solid basis in analytic economics. Students are taught to apply and develop, via specialised modules in international macroeconomics and international trade theory, the analytic and quantitative skills developed in the core courses, and to take further options in areas that strengthen and augment those skills for examining international economic issues.
