The course is a structured and supported program specifically designed to meet the needs of educators who occupy, or will occupy, positions of influence in the education community; the research component is designed to assist practising educators to develop further the relationship between research and their own professional development, and to acquire the expertise necessary to read, use, commission and undertake research that improves educational and institutional practice; the course puts local professional milieu and more into global and globalising contexts; it is relevant to educators working in schools, adult and community education, further and higher education, and in industries where research and training are undertaken; the EdD is ideally suited to experienced professionals interested in pursuing pedagogical and organisational reform and policy development.
1st or Upper 2nd Class 1st degree or equivalent and Master's degree, or other qualifications deemed to be equivalent; 2 years� professional experience within a relevant field; applicants whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS: 7.0 (6.0 written), TOEFL: computer based 250 (5.0 written), or internet bases 100 (5.0 written).
