The course attracts students with an interest in the theoretical and empirical developments in cultural geography and those wishing to gain an understanding of the cultural landscapes of the city and the country. It develops skills in critical analysis, creative thinking and individual research initiatives, and provides training in documentary and iconographical analysis and interview techniques. Optional modules from within geography include the cultural geography of English landscape; additional modules are available from other MA courses such as environmental management, critical theory, and modern social history.
Suitable candidates may be eligible for AHRB MA studentships and also for various University or School bursaries that are made available each year.
