Environment and Society

This research programme focuses on four key areas: Sustainable Rural and Urban Land Management; Farming, Food and Forestry; The Sustainable Use and Management of Water; Health and Environment. Postgraduate students are strongly integrated into our research, contributing across all areas of activity and reflecting the international scope of our work. Throughout their research programme, students will be allocated at least two supervisors and will receive regular review meetings. Postgraduates will also have access to our excellent research facilities, a researcher development programme to help build skills and expertise, and dedicated careers and employability service to ensure students exceed their potential.

Entry requirements

2.1 (or international equivalent); previous training in geography or a related discipline and/or completion of a relevant Master's degree would be desirable. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element).
