Politics (Advanced Research Track)
This course is primarily intended for those who are considering undertaking a research degree or other advanced qualification in politics or social sciences; it aims to give students the methodological tools necessary to study politics at advanced level; it is composed of 3 elements: research training, subject-specific training, and generic skills training; research training equips students with analytical and methodological skills to make informed judgements about issues relating to politics; subject-specific training provides an understanding of both the philosophical and practical basis of political analysis, and examines new developments in political theory; generic skills training is available for those who are taking the MA as part of the 4-year doctoral programme.
Candidates are normally expected to have at least a good 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; IELTS:6.5 in the IELTS test (with a minimum of 6.0 for each element); TOEFL IBT:88 on the IBT with no less than 19 in any element.
