This course is designed for practising professionals; it aims to provide critical reflection on public sector reforms, including evidence-based policy and practice; it thus supports creating greater capacity within the UK public sector to conduct, commission and evaluate research as a contribution to the achievement of public goals; students are supervised in cohorts with tutorial and peer-group support at regular 2-3 day events; research is in the form of 3 linked 12-18 month projects; participants carry out complementary projects in order to maximise data collection and produce valid findings and learning among professionals.
2.1 Honours degree; or international equivalent; plus a minimum of 2 years relevant practical experience; other relevant qualifications or employment experience are considered on an individual basis; where English is not 1st language IELTS test of at least 6.5; or a TOEFL score of 573 or computer based score of 230, including in either case a minimum score of 4.5 in the test of Written English are required.
