Architecture

The school of architecture has within it a range of courses that are associated with architecture, spaces, places and the interior. We offer now a range of scales of design problem for our students, from understanding the city, both regionally and internationally, to designing public spaces, landscapes, buildings, interiors, rooms, exhibitions and installations. The common ground between all our projects and investigation is an understanding of the physical world of the city, the building and the interior. We investigate it conceptually through drawing, sketching and idea: physically, through understanding material, structure, environmental systems: and theoretically through ideologies, texts, commentary and writing.

Entry requirements

Course modules

The School of Architecture's researchers work in a wide range of projects in the areas of architecture, interior design and urban design. Our research is undertaken in collaboration with academic and commercial groups outside the University and most of our full-time academics have practised as architects and designers. This ensures that our research is up-to-date and reflects the current and future needs of the industry.
