Film and Television

The course equips students with the technical, academic and professional skills required to pursue a career in film, television and associated industries. It is project-based, allowing you to define the focus of your work, whilst building creative and technological expertise and gaining the hands-on experience of designing, creating and managing your own digital film or television programme. The course encourages your exploring solutions for delivering product across media platforms in an era of cross-platform convergence.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a second-class honours degree in a relevant subject such as TV and Film Production, broadcasting, moving image, or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications. An online portfolio submission may be required as part of the selection process.
English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 6.0.

Course modules

Modules include: Professional, academic and research development; project context and definition; project design and development; project evaluation and resolution.

Assessment methods

The course is research based, focusing on your own chosen project. Taught units are limited to the first semester, although there is ample opportunity for contact with the staff through regular tutorials and workshops.
Assessment is solely based on your research-based project, its proposal, the artefact itself and your evaluation and technical report.
