Social Historical and Literary Studies

During the 1st phase of their studies, research students acquire and develop the empirical, analytical and theoretical tools that enable them to establish the foundations of their theses. In the 2nd phase of their studies, students focus exclusively on their theses, taking advantage of specialist support and guidance is provided by their main supervisor and an additional supervisory team. Students also participate in the thriving post-graduate research culture provided by CEISR, including a regular series of research lectures and seminars and post-graduate study sessions.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject or a Master's degree in an appropriate subject. Exceptionally, equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will be considered. English literature requires English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 7.0 with no component score below 6.5. Other subject areas require English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 6.0.
