Students undertake a large research project of their choosing which will match the research profile of one of the following Schools in Computing, Engineering, Maths, Civil Engineering and Surveying, or Cosmology and Gravitation. Students' projects will be supported through formal research training sessions and you will also benefit from the advice of world leading experts. A feature of this programme is the opportunity to work with a research active member of staff through a research internal placement unit.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 or 1st Class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 6.0.

Course modules

Areas of research include: Computational intelligence; biomechanics; mobile health; networking and security or systems; healthcare modelling and informatics; cosmic structures formation; galaxy dynamics and surveys; composite structures; renewable energy and sustainability.
