Advanced Manufacturing Technology

Gain a broad appreciation of materials, processes and techniques used in advanced manufacture, alongside an overview of the ways that information technology and software can be applied within manufacturing systems. You will learn to exploit new technologies and manufacturing processes in conjunction with developing efficient operation and effective management skills. Integrating these will ensure you have the ability to meet manufacturing demand for product, company and market needs.

Entry requirements

A 2nd-class honours degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.

Course modules

Modules include: Integrated manufacturing systems; operations and quality management; advanced materials and manufacturing processes; supply chain management; virtual prototyping for production; cad/cam systems; individual project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on written examinations; coursework; laboratory-based project work; a major individual project/dissertation.
