Classics and Ancient History

The course covers all areas of Classics and Ancient History. It is ideal as a preparation for a PhD or teaching career, and as a degree in its own right. All students take Latin or Greek (or both) at an appropriate level, including beginners, and you then write a dissertation on a topic of your choice, for which expert supervision is offered.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 or equivalent at BA level in a relevant Humanities subject.

Course modules

Modules include: Approaches to Classics; research methods; special options (two options from a large choice); Latin or Ancient Greek; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a dissertation.
