University of Reading
Our research brings a breadth of applied linguistic expertise to explore the use and learning of English as a first and second language, and into how the multilingual mind works in context. We focus on 4 main themes, using a wide range of cutting-edge methodologies: Language analysis, acquisition and bi/multilingualism; Academic literacies and language pedagogies; Language in use; Impact on language users and policies. We are currently recruiting PhD students interested in issues related to our four themes and specifically to multilingualism and academic attainment in Malaysia, China and India.
To be accepted onto a research degree programme, you normally need a good Master's degree in a relevant field, but people with other qualifications may be accepted.
