The course is part of the Graduate Centre for International Research in Childhood: Literature, Culture, Media (CIRCL). Students will consider ideas about childhood, reading, and writing; research approaches to children's literature and childhood; the history of children's literature, including training in archival research using the University library's special collection of 19th- and 20th-century children's literature.
A 2.1 BA degree in English Literature, Education, Literaryor Cultural Studies or other related subjects (or equivalent from auniversity outside the UK).
Modules include: Theory of children�s literature; 19th-century children�s literature; 20th-/21st-first century children�s literature; myth and folktale in children�s literature or children�s radio, film, television.
