Modern and Contemporary Literature
This course explores in depth some of the key authors, ideas, and canonical structures of English literature from 1890 to the present. This degree is suited to students with interests in modernity, minority literatures and creative writing.
Students should have a 2.1 degree or above (or equivalent from a university outside the UK). Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.5.
Modules include: Samuel Beckett; Philip Roth; creative and critical writing; Caribbean narratives; contemporary poetry in English.
