Samuel Beckett (Archive Text and Performance)

This course aims to enable students to engage in advanced archival research techniques related specifically to the extensive holdings of the University's Beckett Archive, and to relate those techniques to discussion of Beckett's writing and its contexts. Students also have the opportunity to explore the complex and sophisticated relationship between Beckett's multimedia work in film, theatre, television and radio.

Entry requirements

A good undergraduate Honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK); or relevant work experience.

Modules include: multimedia Beckett; Beckett and the archive; Beckett practical workshops in film, theatre and television; Beckett and modernism; Beckett and contemporary performance.
