Research areas include: history of political thought; early modern Republicanism; levellers; gender and intellectual history; early modern utopias; travel literature and drama; popular politics; history of rural economy and society; early modern theatre and drama, especially Middleton; representations of cultural exchange literature and culture, 1600-1800; early modern sexuality; Spenser, Jonson, Donne, Middleton; literature and sociability; early modern women's writing; religious writing and sermons; church history and the reformation; British political and religious history, 1640-1800; bibliography and book history; literature and politics.

A Master's degree or an Honours degree.
