The programme is conducted through a series of interactive seminars and workshops; assignments are designed to help students plan their teaching effectively and imaginatively and to evaluate their skills, particularly in terms of the quality of learning achieved by pupils; full attention is paid to the requirements of the National Curriculum, the secondary national strategy, the framework for the teaching of English and of the various examination specifications; trainees are encouraged to become highly proficient in all aspects of secondary English and to develop specialist expertise in areas such as drama, media, language and information communications technology.
Degree in an appropriate subject; GCSE minimum grade C or equivalent in mathematics, English language and science; interview.
