Primary Education (French Specialism, 5-11)
Students who are interested in becoming the subject leader or primary French languages co-ordinator may apply for this programme; it prepares students for teaching in primary and junior schools and enables them to teach French to young learners and become effective Primary Language co-ordinators; the structure and much of the content follows the Primary Years programme; leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
A degree in a relevant subject; a minimum of A-level French & commitment to a 4-week placement in France is required for this specialism; GCSE grade C or equivalent is required in English, mathematics & science.
