Environmental Management

Gain a solid grounding in the scientific principles behind environmental management issues with the MSc Environmental Management, a course which is partnered by Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) - Europe's largest public-private innovation partnership focused on climate innovation to mitigate and adapt to climate change. On this course, you will participate in fieldwork and research projects in a world-leading research environment, and take advantage of outstanding facilities housed in modern premises. Through this course, you will develop skills for a career in areas such as environmental management and consultancy. Our custom-designed specialised research facilities includes laboratories and instrumentation for work in molecular ecology and biochemistry, environmental chemistry, physics and stable and radioisotopes. You will have access to superb controlled environment facilities, a large area of experimental polytunnels and glasshouses and will be presented with extensive opportunities for fieldwork at our experimental farms. You can take an optional Research and Enterprise Micro-Placement, during which you will be placed with a member of staff on an externally-funded project based in the UK or internationally, or with an environmental consultancy or government organisation to gain experience of working within an external commercial environment. **Careers** After completing this course you will be ideally placed to work in government agencies (e.g. DEFRA, Environment Agency), environmental consultancies, waste management companies, water companies, agricultural consultants and firms with in-house roles covering sustainability and implementing environmental law. Entry requirements

MSc: You are normally required to have a good undergraduate honours degree (2:2) (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) in geography, environmental science, environmental studies, ecology, agriculture or a related field. Applicants from more diverse backgrounds such as economics or law are also encouraged. Applications from those with no first degree but who have previous experience may also be considered. IELTS: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent).
