International Relations

Gain a thorough introduction to the principal ideas employed in the study of world politics. You will develop an understanding of contemporary global challenges and learn to analyse them critically, while also having the freedom to tailor the course to suit your particular research interests. This programme is suitable for graduates from any discipline, and you will work with an expert supervisor on your specialist research dissertation. Collaborate with academics who have personal experience of public policy, government departments and international organisations (including NATO), or working as advisers to government (including in the UK, the US, France, Italy and Germany). You will benefit from the high level of our research, which has been recognised worldwide by visiting professorships at leading universities. 80% of our research impact was rated world leading or internationally excellent in the latest Research Excellence Framework (2014).

Entry requirements

MA: IELTS: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent). Entry requirements: You are normally required to have a good first or second class honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK).
