Public Policy

The MA Public Policy is designed to give you the tools to understand and assess a wide range of public policy issues. It's a flexible course that allows you to combine modules from different pathways or choose to specialise in one of the following pathways: welfare and social policy sustainable environments international development and emerging markets global and regional governance and institutions security and rights in the modern world During your studies, you will gain excellent exposure to policy makers, with many classes led by analysts from the UK government, while seminars feature politicians and government officials. Class sizes range from five to 25 students depending on the module. In addition to attending classes and lectures, you will have the opportunity to undertake relevant placements. Almost all research done in the Department of Economics, which is very applied in nature, and the Department of Politics is relevant to the MA in Public Policy. If you receive an offer to study the MA Public Policy, you can then also apply to our partner the Climate KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) programme, which adds extra value to your degree by integrating additional lectures and activities with your master's degree, all relating to climate change mitigation and adaptation. **Careers** This degree is relevant to various careers, especially in the public sector and politics.

Entry requirements

MA: You are normally required to have a good first or second class honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) ideally in politics, economics, international relations or a related field. IELTS: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent).
