Creative Enterprise (Communication Design Pathway)

Do you have ambitions to pursue a career in the fast-growing creative sector? This MA programme combines leading academic expertise from two world-renowned schools at the University of Reading - the School of Arts and Communication Design and Henley Business School. The communication design pathway is suited to those who wish to advance their career in the design industry. With a focus on business, this course will enable you to gain the skills and knowledge needed to progress in entrepreneurial careers within start-ups and creative firms. Major themes you will encounter include information design, service design, user experience and brand identity. With modules in design practice, entrepreneurship, management and intellectual property, you will develop strategic and creative thinking skills throughout your degree, and learn to apply design thinking to business. To support your studies, you will have access to dedicated studio facilities and be encouraged to make the most of our connections across both schools. As a Creative Enterprise student, you will also benefit from working alongside those on other Creative Enterprise pathways (such as Theatre, Film and Art), opening up even more opportunities for you to build connections, and to enrich your understanding of the creative industries. **Careers** The MA Creative Enterprise is designed to improve the skills and employability of people passionate about the arts. Graduates of the programme will be in a strong position to pursue start-up opportunities on their own, take managerial roles in the creative sector, or embark on further scholarly research into the arts and creative industries. **Modules** - Strategic information design - User-centred design methods - Management in creative and cultural organisations - Financing for entrepreneurship - Intellectual property law: copyright and design
